VIA LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
The Valley Industry Association has created a SCV Leadership Program to assist in satisfying the goal of preparing the next generation of VIA Committee Chairs and Board members with the ultimate goal of creating a continuing pathway to successor development for the organization and the business community as a whole.
We are now taking registrations and requests for the FOURTH year of the program. Space is limited to just 15 participants. Please contact the VIA Office for full information.
The program fully acquaints participants with the work of the Valley Industry Association (projects, committees, programs, events, goals and objectives) and the steps toward leadership roles (Committees, Board of Directors, Executive Board, Chairmanship).
Guest speakers discuss various aspects of leadership (i.e., communication skills, ethics and integrity in leadership, time management, problem solving, creative and critical thinking.
Provides recommended reading and homework related to the topics.
Includes business-related projects to participant teams and publish the results.
Introduces participants to key community contacts and leaders (i.e. VIA Board, Educators, Elected Officials, Economic Development Corporation, SCV Chamber and Latino Chamber Leaders and others)
Program participants will advance their business acumen while establishing valuable relationships. The program will kick off in March, culminating as the keynote presentation at the November VIA luncheon. Attendees will meet monthly at the VIA offices on the second Tuesday of each month, bright and early at 7:15 a.m. with networking and social media “check in”.
Those interested in joining this developmental program should contact Kathy Norris at the Valley Industry Association at Kathy@via.org or 661.294.8088.
